TRIM TO FIT CANDLE SLEEVES FOR LIGHTING FIXTURES
1. Disconnect the light fixture or lamp
Unplugging is the only guarantee to avoid electrical hazard. A light fixture in the ‘off’ position does not fully protect you from electrical shock.

2. Inspect the fixture/lamp
Fixtures that are up to code include a U.L. listed cardboard or plastic insulator that enclosed the socket and wiring. The U.L. approved insulator fully intact is in place to avoid electrical hazard.

3. Measure for correct size kaarskoker
Diameter: For correct size, measure with insulator attached. For the most accuracy, measure each arm separately and directly from fixture. At this time, aPa Company only sells candelabra size sleeves with an inside diameter 13/16". By 2010, kaarskoker will offer sleeves to accommodate fixtures with standard Edison size sockets, which have an inside diameter of approximately 1-1/4”.
Height: kaarskoker is available in 4” and 6” heights. Measure the existing sleeve or candle cover to determine the replacement size. A sleeve or cover height less that 4” requires purchasing the 4” size and carefully trimming each sleeve or cover to achieve the desired height. For a sleeve or cover height between 4-6”, the 6” size should be purchased and trimmed to fit.

4. Mark kaarskoker
Measure from the top down and mark your desired height. If your kaarskoker or candle cover should measure 2-1/2” from the top down. You’ll want the top of the sleeve or cover to stay intact with the cut end to serve as the bottom of your new sleeve or cover.

5. Trim kaarskoker
On a solid, stable surface, use a cutting board and serrated knife to slowly and carefully trim the kaarskoker or candle cover. Do not assume all will require the same amount trimmed off. Sleeves or covers on the same fixture can have up to a 1/4” length discrepancy. Measure and cut sleeves or candle covers individually. The best method for actual slicing is to cut, stop the knife, rotate the koker ¼” and repeat this until you have completed a full circle.

6. Slowly slide each kaarskoker on your fixture
